Q: CAN I GIVE POWER OF ATTORNEY TO A FAMILY MEMBER TO DEAL WITH MY ATTORNEY IN AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT CASE.: IN NOVEMBER OF 2011 I WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION WITH ANOTHER CAR WHEN THE DRIVER CROSSED THE CENTER LINE. MY FIRST ATTORNEY ABANDONED THE CASE AFTER HE AND HIS PARTNER "SPLIT" AND TOOK THE PARALEGALS WITH HIM. LAWYER #2 HAS NOW HAD THE CASE FOR THREE MONTHS. THE OTHER DRIVERS INSURANCE COMPANY HAS ACCEPTED LIABILITY . I ALSO NEED SURGERY ON MY KNEE. TO DATE I HAVE NO RENTAL CAR NOR REPLACEMENT CAR. IE. NO MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION. I AM VERY UNSURE OF MYSELF IN DEALING WITH THIS AND WOULD LIKE FOR ONE OF MY FAMILY MEMBERS TO HANDLE IT. THE ATTORNEY SAYS I MUST DEAL WITH HIM AND NO ONE ELSE WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Q: My child was assaulted on a school bus and I need to know if I can go after dekalb county school sytem for punitive damages: On April 26, 2012 my daughter was hit in the back of the head with a rock by a student who was involved in a fight. As a parent I had to stop the bus before it pulled off to get information on what happened to my daughter. The District transportation manager didnt properly give me information and evaded my calls. The EMS and FIRE DEPT had to contact individuals to get answersto me in reference to this indcident. The School system requested a meeting with tenants with children who attended the school and didnt show up. Since I have filed a complaint. with a poor process of information given. Since the beginning of this school year there has been 3 different bus drivers.

Q: How long does it take to be charged with vehicular homicide?: A young girl ran off the road and struck my father who died a day later from massive head trauma. The accident took place on March 22 of this year and he died from it the next day. Now, as of now she has yet to be charged with anything and I've had to call the local police department here numerous times just to get any information. Why is it taking so long for any type of justice and is this something I need to have a criminal lawyer step in and assist me with. The answer the police department keeps giving me is "they've done there investigation and they're waiting on her toxicology report because she had a lot of prescription drugs in the car that were prescribed to her" and until they receive that info they can't do any thing else right now.
